A Message from the new Maple Dale Assistant Principal, Ann Marie Reinke

Dear Maple Dale Families,
I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to Maple Dale as the new full-time Assistant Principal! After nine years at the district office working with professional development and curriculum, it is an honor to be given the opportunity to return to what I love most...working with students, teachers and parents! Over the next few months, I will be doing my best to get to know each child and family who attends Maple Dale... a daunting task!
I wanted to share a little bit about my background. I began my career in education 28 years ago at Maple Dale in room 203 teaching third grade. I taught for 13 years at the third and fourth grade level, working with outstanding teachers and our energetic Principal, Mr. Phil Hackett.  I had the opportunity to become Maple Dale’s Assistant Principal in 1999, working closely with my mentor, Principal Dr. Linda Wulff. I also had the opportunity to work with the current principal, Mr. Ron Brooks. Each leader taught me so much and it is with great anticipation that I again get to be partners with Mr. Brooks! He is warm, charismatic and truly cares for each child and family. What a wonderful leader!
In 2006, Superintendent Dr. Adrienne James invited me to join her leadership team at Central Office. What an outstanding role-model she was and continues to be! I also worked closely with our new Superintendent, Mr. Frank Forsthoefel, a man of kindness and integrity.
So, you can see, I have a varied background of experiences that I will bring back to Maple Dale. Please know that I am someone who always has an “open door” and you can stop in to talk with me. Now that I am a parent of a five-year-old, I see things from a new perspective. Parenting is such a joyful yet demanding job, and we need each other to navigate the challenges that arise! Together, I am sure we can solve any problem that comes.
My husband Steve, daughter Caroline and I live on Adventure Lane in Storybook Acres. Steve is a Second Grade Teacher and Science Subject Leader at Symmes Elementary. Caroline will begin Kindergarten this fall at Symmes Elementary. Because of the hours and demands of my new job, we decided to do an intradistrict transfer to Symmes for this school year. But, I am sure you will see her with me at events at Maple Dale this year.
I hope this summer has afforded you some time to travel and enjoy being together, and I look forward to meeting you soon,

Warm Regards,
Ann Marie Reinke
