Project Chairmen Needed!

Maple Dale PTO is still looking for project chairs to help make this school year a success for our students!    Without committee chairs for the following programs, we will not be able to run these programs this year.

Yearbook Chair:  Coordinate the overall production of the year book, oversee the areas listed below, and fill in where needed.
We still need enthusiastic people with different interests and talents to produce a successful yearbook. Even the smallest amount of help is appreciated!
Photographers: We need 1-2 people per grade level to take candid photos of the various class and school activities (like parties or field trips) or to organize other parents to send their photos to the yearbook committee. We also need photographers to take more formal class pictures with the entire class and teacher. Even if you are not on the yearbook committee and happen to get some great pictures, we’d love for you to submit them to anyone on the committee.
Activity Page Layout: Design one or more pages for the yearbook (theme to be determined). All pages are assembled online, on a web page (computer scrapbooking). No experience is necessary, as we are happy to train you. This work can be done at home and is ideal for those who love scrapbooking and/or enjoy working with computers and photos. Page making requires being able to meet strict deadlines, especially in mid-January and early March.
Portrait Pages: We need people to help proof children’s names and pictures and double-check information from the teachers.
Cover Contest: We need a few people to organize the 4th grade yearbook cover contest. This involves making a flyer announcing the contest to the fourth grade students, getting the submissions back from teachers, copying, numbering and posting the submissions in the school lobby, making and distributing the ballots and tallying the votes.
Sales: Help promote sales of the yearbook by making flyers to hang and distribute.

After School Enrichment Chair:  Plan and organize this fantastic event which runs February - March.  You will line up the teachers of the ASE classes, determine which classes will be held in which locations, and will need to be at school each week for the 8 weeks that ASE runs (or find someone who can act as your head contact during these times).

Carnival Volunteer Coordinator:  Our school carnival is in late April.  The volunteer coordinator will work with this year's Carnival chair to schedule volunteers at all the various games and booths.

Nominations Committee- Work with the PTO members and parent/ guardian group to ensure the valued PTO projects have a responsible person to lead them.

Eating with the stars:  A fun and easy way to ”catch” and inspire students to make healthy food options.  Come in during lunch on your own schedule and celebrate students who are making healthy choices.

Please contact Pam McCallen at pamzla@yahoo.com or 891-5881 for more information on any of these positions.
